If it's one thing I've learned while studying Japanese it's that you learn even though you don't realize you're learning, and things that you find completely upside-down now will seem perfectly natural down the road. The important thing is to not get too caught up in the details I think, because you'll just end up being frustrated when all your brain really needs is time to adapt. :D You will definitely get used to it. Yes, it can be rather painful, especially with the built-in habit in the Japanese language of mutating words in sentences a dozen times. Not sure if your example was actual or not but it sounds like it might be お出できてうれしい, "oidekiteureshii", that is oide+kite(kuru)+ureshii. Hi Chris!
