Reading the Chicago Tribune article could only make me marvel at the sheer ignorance displayed. It made me think of all the old writings of how we'd never get to the moon, or how T.V. would never replace radio shows. Get real. There is a standard for embracing of new technology. It took many many years before intenet use became mainstream, it takes a long time for each new advancement. People need to first learn about it, then understand it, then be willing to try it. It's not an overnight result to instigate change.

The entire Web 2.0 concept (to use the catch phrase for the year) is more social networking. Social networking has exploded in the last few years, and will only continue to do so. Right now, bloggers are still a niche community. But there are bloggers out there making enough money to only blog, others making enough to only work part-time.

The thing in the article that made me laugh the most was this:

E-mail us by 2 p.m. Wednesday at ctc-response@tribune.com with "blog" in the subject line. Include your name, hometown and contact information. Responses will be published online and in Thursday's Voice of the people.

I couldn't help but think... "You know, if you were using blogging software to post this article, people could just comment immediately."
