All things must come to an end.

But it’s not quite yet time for me to go back home to Sweden. However, the return date has been moved forward a few months — I am now planning on going back in the end of December, instead of the end of March. So suddenly I am at the “only a couple of months (4) left” milestone. Feels weird. Up until now I’ve felt like I had all the time in the world. Since I probably flunked the JLPT back in July, it also means I’m going to have to put some effort into my studies now. Oh well.

Hey Kalle, I meant to reply to your other post actually. I’ll go do that in a second.
So you’re leaving Japan in December too? I’m also off back to the UK just before Christmas, although in my case it’s only temporary – 18 months or so. Still, as you say, at least you get the final chance at the JLPT (assuming you did fail it, you may well not have done).

Have to say my Japanese studies aren’t progressing, as I still haven’t studied in earnest since last year’s JLPT. I’m picking up new words and spending some time with those, but my kanji ability is becoming clearly worse over time.

Will you be able to continue your Japanese studies in Sweden somehow, or will you try to use it in your daily life?

Why was it moved? And do you have plans to return to Japan after you’ve come back to Sweden?

Mark~ Yeah this summer vacation I didn’t touch kanjis, and I’ve gotten so much worse I’ve noticed. I do intend to keep my studies up at least to an extent, but mostly through reading books and such. Though chances are once I get into uni, I will wanna vomit on books since they have you read so damn much as it is.

Annie~ Well, to make a long story short, I just gave it a lot of thought and realized that I don’t wanna experience one more winter in Kyoto. They suck! And secondly, I realized that if I simply write my girlfriend’s address on the application for the JLPT (Jap. lang. proficiency test) the results will get to me eventually, even if I’m not here (the test is in December, and the results are sent out in February).

As for coming back to Japan, I’m definitely planning om coming back, at the least as a tourist. My girlfriend is going to move to Sweden about half a year after I go home, and she will wanna see her family and such. If I end up not getting a job in Sweden in the end, we may even end up coming back permanently.
