*laughs* Ah okay. And yes, very gross. And it happens like once a week too. Fucking landlord slow about it.

Weird thing is it happened at my mom's place too several times. And it hasn't happened EVER before that. Ever. In my entire life. That I can remember anyway.

Yes, quite. Just how much more ridiculous can it get!

This and all the other bullshit hoops they make people jump through (or walk slowly, or simply stand still, in the case of the p0rnscanner) just to get into their country, is precisely the reason why I've refused to visit the U.S. for about four or five years now, and will continue to refuse to give them my tourist money. Why should I be treated like scum and a criminal, just to be let into their country. I have plenty of other places I'd rather visit anyway.

I can't believe that you were put in a room for hours just for smiling. That is just too much man, too much!

Good luck! Fill us in on your encounter once you're "in"...

Cool. I'm still waiting for 4.3 even though we have the GM of 4.3.

I recently changed to an SSD drive in my MBP and managed to irreversibly fuck up my itunes folder (yay me!) so I ended up in sync-hell and with my strain of bad luck I would probably end up toasting my profile if I tried the GM. Just based on the law of all fubar.

Hah, yeah I love my MBP and my iPhone4 too, which makes this all so much more mind-boggling. How can they succeed so well in one case, and fail so miserably in another?

HA! That is nothing compared to OSX Server.

Set up Open Directory. Change the server IP address, find that merely changing one number results in a total fucking meltdown of epic proportions. Hell, of course there are backups of the OD db, but they are equally fucked since you've changed the IP address.

This is only the latest of all the miserable failures of OSX server I've encountered since I first started running it. It's a clusterfuck of good intentions and "set by GUI" that doesn't work.

Apple's answer ranges from "You are not supposed to do that" (running split horizon DNS) to "Well, It _SHOULD_ work!".

Apple doesn't give a fuck about servers, and it came as no surprise when news of the demise of the Xserve came, nor that OS 10.7 Lion will be the last server version OSX.

Personally I don't give a shit. Since we are not going to upgrade our Xserve nor will we ever buy a new one. It's not possible to run any system apart from OSX Server on the hardware. You bought a rack server, but it will not install linux, windows or anything else. Great. Had we've known that was the case, we would just have bought a MacPro or a cheap as fuck PC server instead.

There you have my two cents on Apple. And yet I love my MBP and my iPhone4.
